Three options come up in almost every kitchen conversation. Which one fits depends on the condition of the cabinets and on what you want the kitchen to look like afterward. For most kitchens where the cabinet boxes are still solid, painting or refinishing gets most of the visual change of replacement for less money.

None of these mean you need new cabinets. If the structure underneath is sound, a new finish usually solves the problem. And if the rest of the kitchen needs a fresh coat too, our house painters can handle the walls and trim.
Kitchen cabinets collect grease, cooking residue, and hand oils, and their factory finish is often slick. Paint doesn't grip a surface like that, and skipping the prep is the most common reason a cabinet paint job starts chipping early.
The fix is unglamorous: degrease the surface, sand it, and prime with a primer made to bond, before any color goes on. That's the part of the job you won't see in a finished photo, and it's why we don't rush it.

Cabinet Painting FAQ
It depends on the cabinets. Refinishing can take less material when the existing finish is in good shape, but a big color change or a lot of repair work shifts that. Both usually cost less than replacing cabinets. We'll look at yours and price the option that actually fits.
Usually, if the boxes are solid and you like the layout. A new finish changes the look of the whole kitchen for less than a remodel. It isn't worth it when the boxes are water-damaged or falling apart, because paint can't fix structure.
You can, but skipping the prep is why DIY cabinet paint tends to chip. Cabinets need to be degreased, sanded, and primed first, and the finish coats need time to cure. If you go the DIY route, plan for prep to take most of the time.
It depends on the number of doors and drawers, the condition of the cabinets, the color change, and the finish. We don't quote a flat rate without seeing them. The estimate is free and in writing.
